Businesses make strides to build bigger and better at York’s RIN

Rail Infrastructure Networking’s event in York proved a resounding success after returning to the city for the first time since the pandemic began.

The event, held at York Racecourse, saw more than 80 exhibitors showcasing the very best the industry had to offer. Over 400 visitors attended, with the day enabling the sector’s supply chain to rebuild connections with top decision-makers and collaborators. At least 200 railway companies sent representatives.

Among the major names in infrastructure attending were Alstom, Amey, Balfour Beatty , BAM, DB, Fraser Nash, Hitachi, Hitachi ABB, Indian Railways, Murphy, LB Foster, LNER, Network Rail, Northern, Serco, Siemens, Speedy, Story Contracting, Unipart, VolkerLaser and VolkerRail.

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) is organised jointly by Jobson James Rail and the Railway Industry Association. In addition, crucial support is given by Rail Business Daily, The Permanent Way Institution, RSS Infrastructure, PRB Consulting, TechnoRail, Selectequip, PBH Rail Ltd, TBAT Innovation, Network Rail, and Rail Forum Midlands.

In turn, RIN is proud to help Railway Children, using the networking events to raise funds and the charity’s profile.

The first RIN was held five years ago. Since then, its organisers have seen consistent high attendance at its regular events in London, Wigan, York and Derby. However, COVID-19 meant a two-year break between RIN events in York. But any concerns this might have put a stop to RIN’s momentum were short-lived.

Director of Jobson James Rail, Keven Parker, said: “After two years away from York, there was a fantastic turnout. The footfall on the day was excellent. Not only were the numbers good, but the exchanges were meaningful – we saw all the important faces here who work in infrastructure.

“The important thing we believe is to get businesses together and get them talking. This focused approach means costs are competitive, allowing companies of all budgets to take part. We think that has really helped during what has been a testing time for the sector.

“The feedback we got from our exhibitors was overwhelmingly positive: leads were developed, and deals struck on the day.

“It was no surprise the industry was ready to do big business post-lockdown, but it was still a wonderful sight to see. Rail Infrastructure Networking is an event created for the industry by the industry, so it means a lot when it continues to go from strength to strength.

“Rail infrastructure businesses are fast proving they have the tenacity to build bigger and better post-pandemic. We are proud that this event helps that to happen.”

Businesses encouraged to sign up for York after huge success of RIN Derby event

Exhibitor spaces have now become available for Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN)’s York event after more than 400 businesspeople attended the latest event in Derby.

RIN has continued to grow since its inception just over three years ago and saw strong numbers attending in Derby to create new business opportunities and develop partnerships. The events are designed to create a welcoming atmosphere where exhibitors and visitors can meet without the need for a hard sell and at an affordable price.

Created by specialist railway insurance broker Jobson James Rail, RIN has already seen lots of businesses registering as an exhibitor for its York event at York Racecourse on Thursday 21st November 2019.

Director of Jobson James Rail, Keven Parker, said: “We are urging businesses to book their space as soon as possible for the next RIN Event. Last year we were sold out and we’ve already had plenty of businesses coming back to us to rebook and to tell us their success stories and contracts secured because they exhibited at our events.

“One railway consultant advised that they have now secured a £50,000 consultancy contract that arose from a meeting at RIN London in February – the events do work and opportunities arise for most of the exhibitors. We created this to give companies of all sizes to meet under one roof, and we continue to explore different opportunities in which we can use RIN to provide more opportunities for all. Our Derby event saw a drop-in surgery with Network Rail to discuss the product acceptance procedure, for example.”

RIN York will take place at York Racecourse and costs just £200 (no VAT) for businesses to exhibit. Visitors are also able to attend for FREE but must register to secure attendance. The event will be open 9:30am to 12:30pm.

Wigan proven popular for rail’s favourite networking event – Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN)

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) visited Wigan for a second year as part of it’s North West edition of networking events.

On 9th May, the event was attended by hundreds at the DW Stadium. The event demonstrated RIN’s continual growth – with the Wigan edition attracting more than 200 businesspeople. The success is due to the format – it is an approachable and affordable morning where businesses can come together to generate new business opportunties.

Director of Jobson James Rail, Keven Parker, said: “We’re pleased to continue playing our part in generating business for the companies and organisations that attend RIN. This event continues to grow in numbers, so much so that we have had to move to a bigger venue in Derby for the next RIN in September.

“RIN provides companies in the North West a place to create new partnerships at an affordable rate – which we continue to focus on for all RIN events. We look forward to seeing businesses after the Summer at Derby.”

RIN brings rail businesses together again after another great event in London

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) continued on its series of successful events after hundreds of people attended the latest edition in the Business Design Centre, London.

The events, which are jointly organised by rail insurance brokers Jobson James Rail and the Railway Industry Association, are designed to bring smaller businesses together to meet with each other and larger contractors in order to stimulate business development opportunities.

Hosted over various UK locations throughout the year, RIN creates a personable atmosphere where rail professionals are given the time to develop positive relationships with others.

Hundreds of people attended the event in London, with over 80 exhibitors. RIN will now move to the North West to the Wigan DW Stadium on Thursday May 9th. Major investment is due to take place in the North West over the next few years, so this is an opportunity to speak with businesses ahead of an exciting time in rail.

The event joint organiser and lead sponsor, Keven Parker, Director at Jobson James Rail, said: “RIN continues to steam ahead in developing opportunities for businesses of all sizes at an affordable price. Considering the cost is kept low for our events, it ensures that people can use a good amount of time to foster new partnerships where they see a return on investment for exhibiting. It was great that Darren Caplan, Chief Executive of RIA and Robert Hodgson of Rail Forum Midlands launched their joint membership initiative at today’s event and there was a lot of interest amongst the exhibitors.

“Many of those who attend always feed back that the atmosphere is friendly, collaborative and open which makes our events a little different to the larger national events. We are now encouraging businesses to sign up to the Wigan event in May and book an exhibitors table early to avoid disappointment. Due to the growth of RIN, Wigan will be the first event where the price will attract VAT and we are asking for exhibitors to only pay after the start of the new financial year.”

RIN events are priced to cover the operating costs and are not profit orientated to keep exhibitor fees low. Jobson James Rail is a specialist insurance solutions provider acting for over 220 railway companies across the UK. RIN will also return to Derby in September and York in November 2019.

Exhibitor spaces for Wigan are now available to book on the RIN website at a cost of £175 plus vat, look us up at www.rinevents.co.uk

Its first Rolling Stock event, “Rolling Stock Networking” will be on Thursday 11th July at the Derby Arena and the event is 90% booked up for exhibitors already. Please visit www.rsnevents.co.uk . The lead sponsor is Jobson James Rail.

Rail infrastructure networking roadshow keeps on growing as its tour of the UK continues

Entering its third year, Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) is a not-for-profit quarterly networking event, each taking place in a different city with a specific link to the UK rail network. Beginning in Birmingham in September 2016, RIN has become bigger and stronger with visitors and exhibitors flocking to each event – the ninth of which took place at York Racecourse on 22nd November 2018.

The event saw more than 90 exhibitors with over 400 visitors come to York to discuss new opportunities and develop new potential partnerships as the rail industry gears up for the huge levels of investment that CP6 and HS2 will bring. The number of visitors reached record levels for the York event, which was three times bigger than last year, and railway infrastructure companies are already registering their place for the next event in London in February 2019.

Sponsors and exhibitors have also enjoyed the benefits of RIN. Many of the exhibitors has spoken of the excellent amount of new business generated from introductions made at RIN events with many citing revenues of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Simon Taylor, Chief Executive of specialist rail marketing and PR agency Mercury Group Limited, who market RIN events, said: “We have exhibited at every event and at each one we have made some great contacts, developing collaborative relationships and generating new business. RIN is a fantastic way to meet new industry acquaintances and to showcase your business.”
So far RIN events have taken place in Birmingham, Doncaster, Crewe, York, Derby, London and Wigan.

RIN is organised by Jobson James Rail, a business which offers specialist insurance solutions for companies and individuals in the rail sector. Director of Jobson James Rail, Keven Parker, said: “RIN is different from other rail industry events, being free to attend and free from sales pitches and presentations. This has undoubtedly helped its growth, all visitors like the fact that their networking time is not interrupted and the venues are now selling out well in advance of each event.

“Three events have now been booked for 2019 and we expect to be back in Yorkshire for the final event of the year again.”

The Rail Industry Association (RIA) – the representative body for UK-based suppliers of equipment and services to the worldwide industry – is aligned to RIN. Its influence has helped to introduce more Principal Contractor Licence holders to RIN events.

The success of RIN has led to the creation of a sister event next year – Rolling Stock Networking (RSN). Modelled on the format of RIN, RSN will be an annual event and is likely to take place over a longer period, potentially 9.30am to 3.30pm. The inaugural event is scheduled for 11th July 2019 at the Derby Arena.

RIN to form new partnership with the Railway Industry Association (RIA)

Jobson James Rail and the Railway Industry Association (RIA) are announcing a new partnership for the highly popular Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) events. The RIN events, one of the fastest growing rail industry forums for those involved in rail infrastructure, will now be jointly organised between Jobson James Rail and RIA.

Keven Parker, Rail Director of Jobson James and creator of the RIN events said: “RIN Events is now an established brand in the rail industry and we are very excited at the new working partnership with the Railway Industry Association. They bring a wealth of contacts and experience to help bring in more buyers and take the event to a new level.

Our last event in Derby attracted 440 rail professionals from 250 railway companies. Exhibitors and visitors to RIN have always asked us to increase its popularity with buyers and service and product providers so we know that, with the valuable assistance of RIA, the event will continue to grow and become even more successful. We are all thrilled to have them on board.”

Gaynor Pates Membership, Events & Business Administration Director at the Railway Industry Association said: “RIA is delighted to become joint organiser of RIN Events, which provide great networking opportunities for rail companies looking to grow their businesses. We look forward to working with Jobson James Rail to develop these events even further, introducing new contacts and organisations to this great initiative.”

The next RIN Infrastructure Networking Event will run in York on 22nd November at York Racecourse from 930am to 1230pm. The event is nearly full and will have nearly 100 stand spaces at exceptionally low prices of just £150 per exhibitor table.

RIN hosts biggest event yet at Derby with more than 440 attendees from 250 companies

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) hosted its biggest event since its inception two years ago, as RIN Derby saw more than 440 rail professionals attend from all over the country.

The event returned to Derby County’s Pride Park following its first Derby event in 2017 – with almost double the number of attendees and many new exhibitors. Hosted in a city with strong ties to the rail technology industry, this location has always been extremely popular as professionals meet to stimulate business opportunities.

The event’s organiser, Keven Parker of Jobson James Rail, said: “We are delighted to see how quickly RIN is growing. Since we founded the event in 2016, we have heard success stories from countless rail companies that have been able to foster fruitful partnerships through new connections made at RIN.

“RIN events are low cost, at just £150 to take an exhibitor table. The main cost is people’s time, which is more than offset by the business development opportunities created through meeting so many innovative rail companies and buyers who want to work and deliver together. We expect that our next event in York in November 2018 will sell out in October – many tables have already been sold since Thursday’s success at Derby.”

RIN events are priced to cover the events’ costs and administration only and are not operated by a large event company. They are organised by Jobson James Rail, which offers specialist insurance solutions for companies and individuals in the rail sector. It is one of the UK’s leading free networking events for the rail industry, with quarterly events held across the UK. The events were initially created for Jobson James Rail’s clients to meet up and network, but they have grown considerably every time.

The next event will be held at York Racecourse on 22nd November, with the first event for 2019 already planned in London on 28th February.

RIN returns to the North West

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) has had a successful return to the North West, bringing its free rail networking event to Wigan after its first event in Crewe last year.

The event took place on 17th May at Wigan’s DW Stadium and was attended by hundreds of railway company representatives.

Since it was first organised by the specialist rail insurance broker Jobson James Rail in 2016, RIN has grown rapidly. This is down to its unique offering to the rail industry: a free event created purely for rail infrastructure companies to network and expand their businesses, with no speeches.

Director of Jobson James Rail, Keven Parker, said: “We have seen a surge in popularity from rail professionals across all facets of the industry. The event has doubled in size since we came to Crewe last year which is great to see.

“We have received a lot of positive feedback from all attendees, with many people already securing new opportunities through our events.

“It is clear to see that we are developing an exciting reputation as the UK’s only free rail networking event and I would like to thank all those who sponsor the event for helping to make that happen.”

The next RIN event will be held on 6th September in Derby’s Pride Park. You can register to attend the event for free by clicking here, or book an exhibitor space for just £150 by clicking here.

DERBY HOSTS RECORD-BREAKING RIN EVENT

Rail Infrastructure Networking’s (RIN) first event in Derby was the biggest event yet, breaking records as exhibitor and visitor numbers hit new heights.

The event attracted over 70 exhibitors and more than 250 people from 160 railway companies from all over the UK who enjoyed an invaluable opportunity to network, strengthen business relationships and establish new business connections.

Keven Parker, Director of Jobson James Rail, said: “Yet again, RIN has beaten the high standards set by previous events. This was our 6th event and again we grew by 50%. We had a record number of exhibitors and visitors, and a fantastic contribution from our event sponsors. It was also very good to see most of the Network Rail Principal Contractors in the room, we had a high number of buyers. When I spoke to the exhibitors they have all obtained valuable sales leads at our events. RIN events are low cost, at just £100 to take an exhibitors table. The main cost is peoples’ time, which is more than offset by the business development opportunities created, and this is why we are growing so quickly. We expect that our next event in London in February 2018 will grow again and will be fully sold out in January.”

RIN events are priced to cover the events costs and administration only and are not operated by a large event company, they are organised by Jobson James Rail, which offers specialist insurance solutions for companies and individuals in the rail sector. It is one of the UK’s leading free networking events for the rail industry, with quarterly events held across the UK. In 2018, there will be RIN events in London, Crewe, York and Derby. RIN is the lowest cost way of advertising your rail business to the rest of the rail industry – it is a roomful of innovative rail companies and buyers who want to work and deliver together.
