First “Rail Infrastructure Networking” event is a great success

Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) made a successful start to its calendar of events, seeing a great turnout at The Studio in Cannon Street – just a short walk from Birmingham New Street Station.

On the morning of Thursday 8th September, rail industry professionals from across the country, representing rail infrastructure companies of various kinds and sizes, enjoyed the opportunity to meet and discuss potential business for the future – unimpeded by sales presentations, pitches, speeches or lunches. That is something quite rare these days, and attendees of the free event were able to turn up and leave as they pleased, as well as enjoy free refreshments.

Jobson James Rail established RIN to provide a way of railway infrastructure companies to come together and network to grow their contacts in the industry to mutual advantage to grow their businesses and, critically, the events are free to attend unlike most others in the industry. We began in Birmingham, which is a huge big hub for rail travellers, but we’ll be going all around the UK in the coming months. There is no distraction of speeches or sit down lunches/dinners and in time we hope it will be an essential part of a rail company’s strategy to attend to advertise and develop their business.

The next event will be on 24th November 2016 in South Yorkshire at the Mercure Doncaster Centre, just 5 minutes’ walk from Doncaster Station. The same informal approach applies, with the addition of a “power hour” speed-networking event for all attendees from 9:30am to 10:30am, enabling professionals to really make the most of these networking events and meet as many in the room as possible. Two further events are planned, one in London in February 2017 and another in Crewe three months after that.
